Summer is here

Well it's a little late but summer is here and so are some of those challenges around food, drink and time. The kids are off, more social days, less time, more time, too hot to eat, to busy to worry.


It's times like that that can scupper our journey mostly because of what our brains are going through more than anything going in your mouth.


When there are challenging weeks we need to remember that it's not a normal week so you just have to do the best you can. Reminding yourself there are no treat foods helps as it normalises food. There are no stress foods, it's just food. It's all about doing you in that moment.

Tracking tends to go out of the window at times. Just take photos and then when you have a spare moment track it the best you can. That way it gets it out of the brain and allows you to focus on next steps. Not all days will be the same. Not all meals will be higher calories. Focus on one meal at a time and be ok with the choice you make. There is absolutely no need for beating ourselves up or starving the next day. It's just food. If there is a gain then that's ok. It was just a number that week. The scales don't define your journey nor do they tell the whole picture. Progress comes in many forms.

Fluid... Up it. It's summer... Up it... There you've been told 😂 if it's extra hot then possibly add in some hydro drinks. Don't let fluid retention get the better of you


Most important... Enjoy time with friends and family. Be realistic with your targets and set some great goals, even if that means the goal is to picture track or drink more.


More importantly than anything. Don't forget to come to a meeting or 121. That check in and reset is keeping you more grounded.
